The world is carrying a lot right now. Violence, displacement, uncertainty, and division affect how we live, work, and relate to one another. In difficult times, joy can easily become something we put aside or lose along the way.
Nuna's work brings together cultural responsiveness and joy. She helps organizations and communities better understand one another, create stronger cultures of belonging, and make room for the things that keep us human — connection, movement, laughter, rest, and joy.
We can take difficult things seriously without allowing them to take every beautiful part of being alive. We can do the hard work and still make room for joy.

I am a Kenyan-born, Maine-based, endlessly curious about people, culture, and what makes us feel alive.
My work often brings me close to serious things: violence, injustice, cultural differences, displacement, and the complicated ways we try to live and work together. But somewhere along the way, I learned that I don’t want difficult things to have all of me.
So I make room for joy.
I dance. I move. I disappear into the forest. I love my solitude. I practice gratitude. I laugh loudly. I stay connected to my culture. And I keep asking myself and the people I work with a question that has become very important to me:
What brings you back to yourself?
That curiosity — about culture, humanity, joy, and how we find our way back to ourselves — is at the heart of how I speak, facilitate, teach, and live.
